Memorial & Honor Fund
Purpose
This fund was the brain child of past NTSPP Treasurer Rege Stewart MD, and has been set up first of all to honor both deceased and living area psychiatrists. The fund is used for two purposes:
1. To fund the dinner costs of invited guests, primarily psychiatry residents, fellows, medical students and occasionally community leaders at our monthly dinner program meetings AND/OR
2. To sponsor the NTSPP public service website www.mhaar.org which seeks ultimately to list all legitimate Mental Health And Addiction Resources in the 12-county area.
We view the recruitment of residents and medical students as an integral part of our mission, yet since we are totally self supporting we need to raise extra money to subsidize these activities.
We view the chance to visit with and achieve solidarity with community leaders interested in our patients and their families as valuable indeed.
Our public service website listing all Mental Health And Addiction Resources (MHAAR) in the 12-county NTSPP area is a pilot project which NTSPP has developed from scratch. We thank the Dallas Area Women Psychiatrists for a recent $2,000 contribution to MHAAR.
In addition to recognizing both donors and honorees in the news letter, the family of the honored physician will also be notified of the donation.
