NEED: PSYCHIATRIST ONSITE AND BACK-UP ON MONDAY 1000-1400 AND TUESDAY 1000-1400 Contact Frank.Webster@UTSouthwestern.edu. See Ike: Volunteer above for new volunteer info. Check with www.ntspp.org for updates.
Hello all, As of 1500 today (09.21), there are 600-650 residents at the Dallas Convention Center. They are service about 950 meals at a time, meaning that there are many clients in hotels who are coming back to the Convention Center for meals and other services.
There is currently no clear indication of how much longer shelter operations will continue. Many of the people who came up on their own have returned, and many of those left are in need of some types of service.
The Medical Coverage is being provided by the Parkland HOMES people. On site medical treatment will be available through this evening, and from 1000-1400 after today. Approximately 1250 people have received medical services, and about 120 have received mental health services.
We still have Adapt Crisis Services on site from 0800-2200. I am recommending that change from 0800-1800 as of Monday.
In terms of psychiatric coverage, we will provide coverage 1000-1600 Sat and Sunday. We will go from 1000-1400 as of Monday. Sunday is well covered, Monday and Tuesday are open.
