Ike update Tuesday 09.16.2008 eve Frank Webster MD
Posts September 16th, 2008Hello all, STORM UPDATE: The State and local communities are still working on restoring power and services to the hardest hit communities. This will have an effect on how long people will be remaining in the area. There is a program to move some of the evacuees without homes to hotels. I do not have additional details at this time.
DALLAS CONVENTION CENTER UPDATE: Operations continue. We are still at about 900 evacuees. We have received 18 dialysis special needs evacuees, which is more than 0 and less than 600, to state the obvious. We have some people coming in and some people exiting. Today we had a need to provide services to a shelter in Cedar Hill. Dr. Ghose and Adapt Mobile Crisis engaged about 15 people there. Our total MH popuation served is in the 70+ range.
We will continue to provide services tomorrow from 0830-2200. The schedule tomorrow is:
Wednesday 9/17:
Subroto Ghose 0830-1330
Felicia Akingbala 1200-1400
John Bennett 1400-1600
Adam Brenner 1400-1800
Margaret Balfour 1800-2200 (Dr. Wolff available as backup)
Dr. North and I are available prn.
We will examine needs tomorrow and determine what hours to be covered. I am thinking that we will decrease the total number of hours covered with physician time beginning on Thursday. I will send out an update on this by mid afternoon. Currently, we have offers to cover Thursday from 1200-2000.
Thanks for you continued hard work and flexibility.
